ORATORIO - Proven Performance.... Proven Value...

By Gary Moore June 25 2012

In life, they say you get what you pay for... but with a horse like Oratorio (Ire), you get so much more...

Just look at the table below and you realise what an effective, consistent sire this triple G1 winning Champion son of Danehill really is...

Sire Runners SWs GSWs G1Ws 2012 Fee
Oratorio (Ire)* 124 8 5 2 11,000
Snitzel 145 8 7 1 33,000
Dane Shadow 168 6 5 3 16,500
Snippetson 195 4 2 0 11,000
Starcraft 150 10 5 2 27,500
Not A Single Doubt 226 9 4 0 24,750
Charge Forward 173 6 5 2 24,750
Stratum 255 12 3 2 44,000

 *Southern Hemisphere crops only.

He’s the sire of 2 Australasian G1 winners, including the brilliant Golden Rose winner Manawanui, who collected $1.26 million in prizemoney during his fabulous 3yo season. Look at his record in the Southern Hemisphere and then look at his 2012 fee and come to realise the meaning of value. Dollar for dollar, he is the epitome of value. His son Torio’s Quest has collect $915,000 in prizemoney, including a Magic Millons win and a G2 Guineas win. Banchee, Ottimo, Miss Solis and Soweto Slew are all top, stakes winning 2yos. Not a bad effort from a horse who was a dual G1 winner and Champion at 3 – his stock just relish racing, like he did, and it’s bourne out by his record at stud.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that his two biggest crops of runners are 2yos and 3yos of the 2012/13 season. When you consider the success that he has enjoyed from such relatively small representation in his first seasons at stud, it’s exciting to consider what he might achieve with bigger numbers on his side. His yearlings made up to $210,000 at auction in 2012, which illustrates his commerical appeal also.

He’s certainly a stallion that all breeders with regard to value should be considering. He’s a proven source of quality stock, and as the above table demonstrates, he’s capable of producing top performers consistently.

Oratorio (Ire) will stand the 2012 season at Coolmore Australia at the value fee of $11,000.  Click here for further details.
