DUE SASSO throws a magnificent type and was well recieved again by trainers at the 2011 Magic Millions yearlng sales averaging $36818 and selling up to $95000 in the Premier sale.

DUE SASSO, prepared throughout his racing career by Brian Mayfield Smith, easily won his first outing, at Ballarat. DUE SASSO then showed his electrifying speed with an easy win in the Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude defeating subsequent Gr1 winners Nadeem and Wonderful World.

"He has great natural speed at the start and can do it at both ends of the race, I'm normally not a fan of racing 2 year olds, but this guy is just a natural racehorse" Mayfield Smith commented.

Starting as one of the favourites in the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes, he was hampered after leading well into the straight by the heavy going on the fence and finished a creditable fourth, beaten by the same group of class horses he had easily defeated two weeks earlier on a fast track.

From his eight starts DUE SASSO raced in seven group or listed events, finishing in the first four on six occasions.

DUE SASSO is from the speed family of the outstanding underfeated two year old Rancher; one of the most precocious two year olds ever produced in Australasia and stakes performers Miss Mooney Mooney, Drogheda, Cool Azz, Sleep Time Girl ,Sally Magic, Chitabe, Great Condor.

SCENIC, sire of 68 stakeswinners and $76million in earnings including Group One winners Viewed, Conistan Bluebird, Universal Prince, Blevic, Piavonic, Episode, Scenic Peak, Lord Essex, Lochrae, Universal Queen and Shame, and sire of WA's great sprinters Scenic Blast, Marasco, Scenic Shot etc. Sadly Scenic was lost to the Australian breeding industry but has proven his affinity with the Western Australian broodmares and fast ground race conditions.
