Zarkava delivers 'very strong' Dubawi colt
5th March, 2013THE Aga Khan's unbeaten Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Zarkava delivered her fourth foal in France on Saturday morning. The new arrival is a bay colt by Dubawi described by Georges Rimaud, the manager of the Aga Khan Studs in France, as "a nice individual, very strong with bone and good depth". He is Zarkava's third colt in a row, after her two-year-old by Sea The Stars and yearling by Galileo, both still unnamed. Zarkava's first foal was an unraced three-year-old filly by Dalakhani named Zerkaza. , who won five Group 1s including the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches and Prix de Diane as well as the Arc, will now visit Redoute's Choice this season. Redoute's Choice, who is shuttling from Australia to the northern hemisphere for the first time this year, is standing at the Aga Khan's Haras de Bonneval in Normandy. He sired his 100th stakes winner last month. Just a few hours after Zarkava, Valima produced a bay filly by Acclamation who is a half-sister to three stakes performers including last year's Prix de Diane heroine Valyra. Rimaud described the filly foal as "elegant" and "well-proportioned". Valima, a daughter of Linamix, returns to Valyra's sire Azamour this year.
