The 'Prix d'Amerique' is the world's championship for Harness and Trotting racing and it's the richest with its one million euros on offer. Every year, always taking place on the last Sunday in January, the event attracts horses and spectators from all over France and the world including 2 racegoers, from Melbourne Australia, who came all the way just to see this event. |

What a carnival atmosphere; groups of supporters from different regions of France and Europe grouped together and waving their flags in support of their particular horse or Jockey! By the way jockeys here are called Drivers for Harness and Pilots for Mounted trotting.
Vincennes racecourse is the home of Harness and Trotting in France. With its world class facilities and with a massive grandstand,Vincennes does not disappoint. The huge, glass fronted panoramic restaurant has some 4000 places. This is the place to be, where you can enjoy a four course meal, watch the races and bet from the confort of your seat particularly when it's cold outside. Having said that, the cold did not deter the nearly 36000 punters witnessing this unique and memorable race. |

Prior to the event, a spectacular show was put on for the racegoers. Somehow very bizarre for a horsy event and at the same time very enjoyable! And now to the race itself: Tomoko, the favourite led all the way before fading away at the last straight. For the second time, Ready Cash (Franc Nivard), showed his supremacy in winning in a record time of 3.14.49. |
