Brisbane Cup start possible for LIGHTS OF HEAVEN

By Gary Moore June 04 2012

Trainer Peter Moody is considering a start for Lights of Heaven in Saturday’s A$300,000 Brisbane Cup-Gr.2 (2400m) following her brave success in the Eagle Farm Cup-Gr.2 (2200m) at the weekend.

The daughter of Zabeel and the Volksraad mare I’m in Heaven has had a great Winter Carnival with seconds in the A D Hollindale Stakes-Gr.2 (1800m) and Doomben Cup-Gr.1 (2000m) in addition to Saturday’s success.

The four-year-old has built an impressive record from just 13 outings, having won the SAJC Schweppes Oaks-Gr.1 (2000m) at three and has now won 5 races and been placed on 4 occasions for prize money of A$776,688.

It will be a big day for Zabeel at Eagle Farm on Saturday with Zabeelionaire, this year’s South Australian Derby-Gr.1 winner, tackling the A$500,000 Queensland Derby-Gr.1 on the same day.
