Irish bred son of DANEHILL related to FRANKEL

Chianti is a full brother to the internationally acclaimed sire - Desert King who is the sire of Australian Champions Makybe Diva and Desert War. Through his dam SABAAH, he hails from an outstanding female family and producers of Grp 1 winning Champions that include world champion miler FRANKEL.

Chianti is the sire of four stakes placed horses from limited mares. In the current 2012-13 season, from just 3 runners in Hong Kong who have all won, he has 7 wins for over $4 million HKD. His runners in HK include All Friends (Shaken), Winning Instinct (Richard) and Young Talent.

His previous runners include multiple GI and GIII stakes placed sprinter - Tuscan Spirit. Tuscan Spirit won 4 successive sprint races in Hong Kong as a 3 year old including a magnificent win over the multiple Group winner One World in the second fastest time over 1200 metres that season in Hong Kong. As a result of his 3 year old achievements Tuscan Spirit was the highest internationally rated 3 year in Hong Kong for the previous 10 years. He has won stakes of $6.2 million to date.

Chianti leaves a good quality foal and his progeny continue to sell well. Chianti weanlings have sold for as much as $48,000.

Bred at the famous Irish National Stud, Chianti is the only Northern hemisphere bred son of the great Danehill at stud in New Zealand. Chianti's dam is by the great Nureyev who is also the dam sire of two NZ champion mares last season namely Anabandana, and King's Rose as well as being the dam sire of the great Zabeel.
