Magic Albert / Autumnconcerto 2010 colt

The photograph of the colt pictured above tells a great story. He is a stunning individual and in many ways is a replica of his highly successful sire Magic Albert. I have decided to send the colt to Kris Lees to train. Kris does a marvelous job for us and this season his winning strike rate with the Prime Thoroughbreds trained horses under his care is 28% with 7 winners from 25 starts.

Magic Albert

Magic Albert has proven himself to be a wonderful sire in Australia and has offered breeders a terrific out cross to the many different stallion lines represented in Australia. He puts the tough colonial traits into his progeny which are so important for success in our harsh racing environment.
Currently Magic Albert is sitting at 14th on the National Sires List and 10th on the National Sires Winners List. He is 12th on the Three Year Old List and 15th on the Four Year Old List. The best horses to have represented him this season are Albert The Fat, Ilovethiscity, Straight Albert and the South African star and Group 1 winner Fighting Warrior.

Magic Albert has been very good to Prime Thoroughbreds with us syndicating 11% of his stakes horses. These are Greenmount Belle, Too Many Reds and I Am Magic.
Magic Albert has the terrific trait of being able to stamp his progeny. This was also a good characteristic of his sire, the champion Zeditave.

Autumnconcerto

Autumnconcerto is by the remarkable stallion Hussonet. Hussonet has been a success in both America and here where he was purchased to stand at a relatively old age by John Messara of Arrowfield Stud. He is starting to make his mark here with his sons Husson, Trotamondo, Husson Lightning, and Reann being very well received at stud in Australia.

I am expecting this will be the case with his daughters as well. Many of them are good looking mares out of very good female families. In total his daughters have thrown 230 individual winners from only 281 runners (81.9%) including 42 stakes horses (18.3%). Compare this with the current top broodmare sires Zabeel and Danehill in Australia. Zabeel has 1338 runners for 882 winners (65.9%) and 161 (12%) stakes horses. Danehill has 3353 runners for 2014 winners (60%) with 363 stakes horses (10.8%). Both Zabeel and Danehill were foaled in 1986 whereas Hussonet was foaled in 1991.

This is the first foal for Autumnconcerto. I love first foals with horses like Dignity Dancer, French Braids, Too Many Reds, Believe’N’Achieve and Admiral’s Cup being just a few first foals I have been associated with.
Autumnconcerto is out of a very good female winning line with her dam, the two year old stakes winner Western Zip having seven to race for as many winners. Relativity is a half-sister to Autumnconcerto is the dam of the highly promising sprinter Second Effort.
