Husson | Chestnut Entire (2003)
The Leading First Season Sire by Winners in Australia.
HUSSON was crowned Champion two-year-old colt in Argentina after winning their Golden Slipper equivalent by over nine lengths.
A multiple Group 1 winner up to 1600m, HUSSON subsequently retired at the end of his three-year-old season as an undefeated winner of five races.
With such an impressive background it came as no surprise to see his first crop in Australia take the racing world by storm. His first runner, HUSSOUSA made an astonishing start by winning the Listed Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) on debut. While a strong win by AFFABLE in the Listed Gibson Carmichael Stakes (1600m) at Flemington, proves that HUSSON is capable of producing progeny with speed and stamina.
Stakes performers MAURY and FERMENT, metropolitan winners WOLFSBURG and CABALLO RAPIDO are part of 11 individual winners (during the 2011-12 season) that catapulted HUSSON to the top of Australia's Champion first-season-sire table by winners.
In the sales ring, HUSSON had another superb season with his progeny being eagerly sought after and selling up to $180,000. That is a wonderful return for those breeders who supported him in his earlier seasons at stud.
